Shuguang Yu is a direct-entry Ph.D. student in Applied Statistics (Class of 2021) at the School of Statistics and Data Science, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, advised by Associate Professor Fan Zhou. His research interests lie in large language models, reinforcement learning, and causal inference. He has published two first-author papers at NeurIPS and ICLR, and several additional works are currently under review at venues including JRSS-B and JMLR. He also serves as a reviewer for JASA, ICML, ICLR, and NeurIPS. His honors include the Academic Star Award, the BYD Social Scholarship, the First Prize Academic Scholarship, the Second Prize for Best Paper at the 2025 Shanghai Statistics Doctoral Forum, and the Travel Award at the Doctoral Forum of the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Young Statisticians Association.
